#FridayFive practising gratitude 4


Gratitude is supposed to lead to happiness and a more positive attitude, so here’s my #FridayFive which are five things that I’m grateful for. Join in! What are you grateful for?


  1. I’m grateful for the opportunity to get my nails done and have a hot stone massage. I found out that a new salon had opened up who needed case studies to have a hot stone massage. It was so good! The heat of the stones felt amazing. Apparently my shoulders have lots of knots in them and it felt really good on my back aswell. I want to start having the massages regularly as a form of self care and a well deserved treat.

  2. I’m grateful that my partner has had his contract extended at work. Only by 2 months, but that gives him more time to find his next job which means both of us should be a little less stressed.

  3. I’m grateful that I was able to buy two new books this week, Happy by Fearne Cotton and A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled by Ruby Wax. I’m enjoying reading both of them.

  4. This week I am grateful for my bed. Slightly strange thing to be grateful for perhaps, but at times it has felt the safest place to be. And when sheer exhaustion plus headaches hit it was the only place I was able to be.

  5. I am grateful for the tv show Gilmore Girls. That time I was spending in bed, scared to be anywhere else, I started watching it again from Season 1. Rory looks so young! It made me laugh and was super comforting to be amongst friends!

    I am once again struggling this week, after the flu and a persistent cough returned with a vengeance.
    1) Grateful once again for my dog, Ollie. He was five years on the 12th.
    2) Grateful for the gift of a bottle of Merlot from my wife on Valentine’s Day. I enjoyed drinking that.
    3) Grateful to not have wasted my ticket to the theatre on Saturday. I feel too ill to go, but was happy to give it as a gift to one of Julie’s friends.
    4) Grateful for all the sunshine during the week that made me feel as if Spring was arriving.
    5) Grateful to all my blogging friends who continue to read my blog, even though I am not posting much on it.

    Hoping to see the end of this seventeen-day illness. If it goes, I will be sure to be grateful for that next week
