#FridayFive – week one

How has your week been? Mine has been pretty rubbish to be honest. I’ve had a headache practically every day, with two days spent in bed with migraines. But I’m choosing to be positive. I’ve still been taking part in the #janselfcarechallenge doing some decluttering, embracing hygge, getting cosy and giving compliments to every mental health friend I’ve made online.

Keep believing in you. Brave, wonderful you.

Gratitude is supposed to lead to happiness and a more positive attitude, so I’m starting a new thing! Here’s my #FridayFive of things I’m grateful for:

  1. I am grateful for the tulips brightening up my living room.
  2. For my understanding manager and work colleagues
  3. As ever for my partner and Milly
  4. My friend who didn’t mind me cancelling dinner plans with her
  5. Being able to try a new exercise class with another lovely friend and a bonus one because it’s the first week…
  6. A lazy, restful weekend ahead.

Join in! What are you grateful for?

Let me know what you think

Hi, Lauren! I guess rubbish weeks happen, and it helps us to appreciate the good times, but that doesn’t necessarily make the lousy times any less lousy. I hope that a restful weekend and some positive practices set you back in a better place in mind, body, and spirit by the end of the weekend. Thank you so much for your message to me on my site!

I love the idea of a “Friday Five” and would love to join in! Here are my five for this week (one day late):
    1. I’m grateful for the gifts of imperfection! I can participate in a “Friday Five” on a Saturday, and I’m no worse for it. That’s being a bit silly, but honestly, being such a perfectionist, relaxing into imperfection and realizing that I am still loved and still lovable is a divine gift.
    2. My own little, furry partner in crime – my cat. He’s getting older but is no less mischievous.
    3. My friends at work! We went out to lunch yesterday, and they let me choose the restaurant – a place I never tried before, as I try to expand my comfort around all sorts of different foods and settings.
    4. Rainy Saturdays. It’s a perfect day for reading, writing, and taking down the last of the holiday decorations.
    5. My neighborhood. It is quiet, lovely, and my neighbors are kind.

Thanks again, Lauren, for all you write and all you do! xoxo
