Mental Health Mates are walks organised by volunteers. It is a safe space to walk and talk without fear or judgement. It is not a form of therapy or medication. It is somewhere to meet other people, people you can be completely honest with and be yourself. These walks were originally set up by Bryony Gordon, author of Mad Girl. I first heard about the groups when reading this article. These walks are a way of realising that you are not alone.
I am very proud to be organising the Norwich Mental Health Mates group. I hope to help myself and others to ‘find your we’.
