Practicing Gratitude – #FridayFive 24th November 2017 2

It has been a tricky week filled with anxiety and panic but it’s been nice to sit down and think about what I have to be grateful for! Practicing gratitude is supposed to lead to happiness and a more positive attitude, so here’s my #FridayFive which are the five things that I am grateful for this week.

  1. The number one thing that I am grateful for this week is the National Health Servie. I made a mistake with my antidepressants, causing a major panic attack and a phone call to NHS 111. I posted about it on the Milly’s Guide facebook page (take a look and give us a like and follow!) and am massively grateful and thankful to the wonderful people who work for the NHS.
  2. I am grateful for my legs. This week I saw someone I didn’t really want to see. I had to walk straight past them and I am grateful that my legs did what they needed to while my head and heart were screaming.
  3. I am grateful to my friends. Whether they have been my colleagues, my online friends I’ve found through blogging or txts from long term friends – I have felt very grateful for their support.
  4. I am grateful to my family. I had a lovely weekend with my parents, my sister and brother in law and my in laws.
  5. I am grateful for Milly. She always makes me smile and feel better. Whether that’s being cuddled up on the sofa or running around in the autumn leaves she lights up my life.

What are you grateful for?

Join in! I’d love to know. Let me know in the comments or leave a link to your own #FridayFive gratitude blogpost.

Let me know what you think

The sun is out today, so I am not going to dwell on negatives this week.

    1) Grateful that my wife is feeling a lot better, after six hard months.
    2) Grateful for that sun coming out and driving away the gloom and damp that really got me down.
    3) Grateful (like you) for the NHS, which continues to give us both a great service.
    4) Grateful for having time to think, and no longer having to be concerned about jobs and careers. I worked so hard for so long, I almost forgot how to think.
    5) Grateful for being able to do more or less what I want in life. Not in a material way, but in the choices of how I spend my time.

    Best wishes, Pete.

I have really felt positive this week with only one blot on the landscape! So here goes with my top 5 as I think I could find more this week.

    1. Like you I am grateful for the NHS for their care of my great niece who came home from GOSH on Monday and is doing well.

    2. I am very grateful to my weight management doctor to suggest I may need my anti depressants increased. Now on a higher dose and feel so much better!

    3. A friend who because of a car accident couldn’t go on a photography walk in Norwich last night. I am not grateful she had an accident but grateful she thought of me to go in her place.

    4. I am grateful to see the sun shine this week. Makes getting through the week a bit easier than the dull grey days.

    5. Lastly this week I am grateful to be alive to enjoy my various interests and hobbies. My head is full of creativity on so many levels! This is probably helped by number 2!

Got a few days away with my daughter next week so will no daught have much to be grateful for. Have a good one everyone!
