Practicing Gratitude – #FridayFive 27th April 2018 25

This is my weekly blog post sharing what I am grateful for. Practicing gratitude is supposed to lead to happiness and a more positive attitude and I would love for you to share what you’re grateful for in the comments.

  1. I’m grateful that I got out on my bike and rode around the village in the sunshine. It has been something that I’ve wanted to do for ages (bought a new helmet last year and only just used it!) It felt really good to be out, doing something different and good for me. I’m hoping to go out for more bike rides and get in to a routine. I’m grateful that my head, my back and the weather all came together so that I could do it!
  2. I’m grateful for a lovely long walk in the sunshine with my sort-of brother in law and nephews. I’ve put my fitbit back on and am enjoying counting how many steps I do. I’ve got to my daily target of 10,000 steps quite a few times this week.
  3. Last weekend I had a flat tyre – I’m grateful that the garage I went to was very nice and that they were able to repair the puncture which is a much cheaper option than buying a whole new tyre!
  4. I am grateful for Charlotte. Charlotte is a fellow mental health blogger in Norfolk who organised a charity ball this week. She has brilliantly raised money for our local mental health charity, West Norfolk Mind. I’m looking forward to working with her some more in the future!
  5. I’m grateful for Josh – he came with me to the ball even though it was on a work night and he was super tired. I wouldn’t have gone without him and he knew it was important to me so he came to support me.

What are you grateful for?

Join in! I’d love to know. Let me know in the comments or leave a link to your own #FridayFive gratitude blogpost. I hope you all have a lovely weekend and week ahead.

Let me know what you think

A week of two halves indeed! I want to try, so here goes.

    1) Grateful for that burst of summer last week, reminding me that life is not always about rain.
    2) Grateful for Rani’s Indian restaurant, Yaxham, for a great Indian meal last Sunday.
    3) Grateful for being reasonably financially comfortable, when I heard about a friend in difficulties.
    4) Grateful for peace and quiet, long sleeps, and early nights.
    5) Grateful as always for the friendship of my wonderful dog, Ollie. It knows no bounds.

Rain again now, so not so happy. But I made the five!
    Best wishes, Pete. x

A bit of a busy week so here goes!
    1. Monday I went on a boat trip from Boston, Lincs to capture some wildlife shots with my camera club. 30 people 1 boat and a fantastic atmosphere. Not many award winning images but grateful for a fantastic time.
    2. Over the weekend I was grateful for dry weather so I could lay slabs and erect fencing. Just a pityMarble the rabbit is not impressed with her new run and prefers to sit inside her hutch looking through the mesh!
    3. Yesterday I was grateful yet again for my vets who treated Hugo but not so grateful they wanted £70 for the privilege!
4.This week everything seems to have woken up. Lushous green leaves and blossom on trees, birds singing and the vibrant yellow of rape fields all making the landscape a much more beautiful place. Grateful to Mother Nature.

I’ve got building work going on at home so it’s a bit loud, dusty, and chaotic here at the moment. However, I can say that I’m grateful to the Avengers for entertaining me at the cinema when I managed to escape the house yesterday! 😉

Those are great things to be grateful for. I think sometimes we overthink gratitude – if we look around us I’m sure there are usually things to be grateful for. A sunny day, running into a friend and hearing a positive conversation.
