Today was the first Mental Health Mates walk that I have organised. And now I’m tired, so tired. I feel like I used so much energy today. I woke early with nerves and it takes so much to put yourself out there, organise something new, to volunteer your time and to try and make a difference alongside all the normal anxiety I have everyday. And because I’m super sensitive a few things about the walk are niggling at me. I’m not going to go over it here, going over and over it in my head is enough. I do feel like I’ve given all I can today to the world and all I can do is be. I hope that an evening of rest and a good night’s sleep will be enough to ward off the blues…
Congratulations job well done..hot bath , meditation and sleep. As per your quote you have done your best. Be proud of what you have achieved, a great charitable act a great good karmic account. Well done
Thankyou very much for your kind words. I am proud, took me a few days to relax and feel proud of myself but I do now! x
Sounds to me like you did more than many people do, and if there were some issues, I am sure that you will soon relax and think them through. Well done for doing what you did.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thankyou Pete. It’s taking me a few days to relax but I do feel proud and happy with what I did – thankyou for your kind words 🙂
It does take so much from you to organize such an event. Well done…rest is well deserved.
Thankyou 🙂
Well done on your volunteering and getting something new done! I don’t know if this will help at all, but try to remember that your perceptions of the event will be totally different from someone elses. So, rest and think of all the good things that happened on the day, and that everyone had a great time! 🙂
That was really helpful, thankyou for sharing them with me. It’s true and I think overall it was a really good event. I rested and am feeling much more positive about it now! 🙂
I’m in agreement with everyone else, what you did was fantastic and a rest period is well deserved.
I read something interesting this morning. It said if you find yourself feeling angry, sad, or emotional over a situation, imagine someone you know experiencing the same thing and what advice you would give them. Then apply that advice to yourself.
I thought that sounded pretty smart, just hope I remember it when needed!
That is really good advice – I’m going to try and remember it too! Always harder to be kind to yourself. Thankyou for your kind words. Am feeling more positive about the day after resting!
