You are a badass – book review 3

Jen Sincero is the new author in the self help book world. Well, I say new to the self help book world this book was published in 2013 in the USA but only released here in the UK last year. Unimpressed with other self help guides Sincero has written her own You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life. In this book she introduces some of the ways she changed her life and I love the title!

Book review of You are a Badass, How to stop doubting your greatness and start living an awesome life.

In this book, Sincero empowers you to change your life. She says ‘It’s about having the cajones to show up at the brightest, happiest, badassiest version of yourself.’

Big Snooze

Our subconscious mind is our feelings and instincts. They have no filter, everything you feel or think your subconscious mind believes and thinks it is true. Sincero also talks about the Big Snooze a.k.a the ego (which I’ve never really understood when other self help guro’s talk about it). This is the thing that stops change and prevents you from being your best, brilliant self.

Our conscious mind think it’s in control, but it isn’t. Our subconscious mind doesn’t think about anything, but is in control.

 Jen Sincero

It’s just as easy to believe we’re awesome as it is to believe we’re giant sucky things.

Law of Attraction

Meditation, positive thinking, gratitude and forgiveness are some of the ways that this book recommends you create living an awesome life. My favourite chapters are in part 2 ‘How to Embrace your Inner Badass’ with lots of tips to love yourself.

This book is fun, easy to read and broken down into fantastic parts, chapters and sections. Sincero is a good, engaging and funny writer. The book focuses on overhauling your life, business, career and making money. But I think that there are some fantastic tips to bring more happiness, positivity and confidence into your life helping your mental health. I’m already looking forward to re-reading this book and putting some of it into practice!

Very nice review and it kind of came just in time!
I like that it’s just a short review without telling too much.

PS: I also love how you include your Labrador to your blog 🙂

    I will definitely come back
