Practicing Gratitude – #FridayFive 13th April 2018 36

This is my weekly blog post sharing what I am grateful for. It’s been a difficult week with back pain, headaches and now bad toothache. But practicing gratitude is supposed to lead to happiness and a more positive attitude so I’m determined to come up with my five things to be grateful for this week.

  1. Today I am grateful for the Dentist access centre. I was able to get emergency NHS treatment for my tooth.
  2. I’m grateful for soup! I’m struggling to eat at the moment so have had soup and have got soup planned for dinner. I’ve also got chocolate and ice cream!
  3. I’m grateful for painkillers – with the bad back, headaches and toothache unfortunately I’ve been taking quite a lot of them.
  4. I’m grateful for Milly, she’s curled up next to me right now!
  5. I’m grateful for my cosy cottage which is starting to feel very hygge. I’ve bought some houseplants and really like them.

Oh dear Lauren I hope your tooth soon gets more bearable. I’ve had a busy week this week but still made time for being grateful.

    1. At the at the weekend Lucy came home and bought her new man with her. I am very grateful to see a smile on her face.
    2. On Sunday we were invited to my great nieces naming day. Had a lovely afternoon and I’m grateful to them for both asking us and providing a lovely buffet!
    3. On Wednesday I met up with Sue and Terry for a chat over coffee. I feel very grateful to have such good friends.
    4. Thursday morning was another visit to the vets for Hugo and thankfully he was given the all clear so I am grateful to Angeleena for her help and understanding.
    5. Finally I am grateful to the wonderful Mallik who is transforming our bathroom into a wet room.

Aww I’m sorry you’re having a bad week, Lauren. Good for you for coming up with these 5 positives despite everything. And big hugs from me. I hope you soon start to feel better.

This week I am grateful for:

    1. My partner being able to put the physio tape on my back – I really think it’s helping reduce my neck pain – and it’s saved me paying £40 to see the physio!

    2. My partner bought me a present which arrived today – Fearn Cotton’s ‘Calm’ book. I love parcels!

    3. Staying on track with my fitness and diet goals. I’ve lost more weight this week and am hitting my 10,000 steps per day, as well as doing a few workouts at home.

    4. I finally got my head around some technical things on my blog and I am so happy!

    5. Family walks with my partner and my two Westies.

Lauren, in this mud and fog, I am struggling for positives. A big part of my life is still on meltdown, and the weather is driving me to distraction.
So you will have to forgive me, when I say I cannot complete the Grateful 5 this week. Sorry. 🙁
    Better luck next week, hopefully.
    Best wishes, Pete.

Doesn’t sound like a good week this week Lauren. I hope your tooth situation settles down bless you.

    1. I’m grateful that the office has been more quiet this week.
    2. I’m grateful that the roads have been quieter due to half term so I’ve had a little bit longer in bed.
    3. My delivery of running gear finally arrived and it all fits so my Great North Run training can begin.
    4. I’m grateful that I had a lovely family meal on Tuesday.
    5. My mams car broke down on a dangerous busy road on Tuesday night and I’m so grateful that the Greenflag man rescued them and they are ok.

    Have a lovely weekend x
