Practicing Gratitude – #FridayFive 25th May 2018 7

This is my weekly blog post sharing what I am grateful for. Practicing gratitude is supposed to lead to happiness and a more positive attitude and I would love for you to share what you’re grateful for in the comments.

#FridayFive Practicing Gratitude Milly's Guide

  1. I am grateful for the opportunity to meet some of my fellow bloggers at the Bloggers Bash in London at the weekend. Unfortunately it wasn’t as great as I had hoped it would be and a few comments during and after the event have stuck with me. It didn’t leave me super motivated or inspired with my blogging.  I think perhaps I’m struggling with feeling like a little fish in a big pond. But I really enjoyed meeting some bloggers ‘in real life’ that I have spoken to online. I’m grateful that I was able to talk to people about mental health and openly say that’s what I blog about.
  2. On Sunday I was being Auntie Lauren and looking after two of my nephews – I’m grateful that it went well and we had a lovely day (I was also grateful when their dad picked them up!!!)
  3. I’m grateful that I trusted my instincts and took Milly to the vets this week. It turns out that I was right to take her as she has cystitis or a urine tract infection. I was worrying that I was overreacting but I’m really pleased that I took her as it can lead to complications.
  4. And related to number 3 I’m grateful that Milly is doing okay. She’s not really poorly, doesn’t seem to be in any pain and hasn’t had any accidents. She seems a bit more tired but still wants to go out for walks and have cuddles!
  5. I am grateful that it is very nearly the weekend, and that it is a three day weekend with the Bank Holiday! Not got too much planned and I’m looking forward to relaxing with Josh, Milly and friends. I hope you have a lovely weekend and week ahead.

What are you grateful for?

Join in! I’d love to know. Let me know in the comments or leave a link to your own #FridayFive gratitude blogpost.

Sorry to hear the bloggers bash was disappointing. I have never been to one.

    1) Grateful that GDPR has come and gone, and didn’t affect ‘free’ bloggers like me.
    2) Grateful for all the help and advice received from other bloggers about GDPR.
    3) Grateful for continuing good weather, even though it is set to change today.
    4) Grateful for the chance to get some clearing up done in the garden.
    5) Grateful as always for the blogging community being so supportive of my blog.

    Best wishes, Pete.

Glad you got to the bottom of Millys problem, excuse the pun!

My grateful 5 are mostly doggy related this week-

    1. On Saturday the vet rang to say Hugo’s swab results were in. He apparently has ‘trench’ foot. Not sure how he got it but soggy carpets may be involved. I am grateful for the treatment he is receiving.

    2. On being told trench foot is resilient to most antibiotics I am very grateful that the first ones we are trying seem to have made an inprovement. That and bathing and steroid cream twice a day!

    3. I am very grateful to have pet insurance, something I have never bothered with before.

    4. Two weeks ago we got a new puppy, a Lhasa X PJR called Teddie. I am really pleased how he has settled in and that Hugo and him get on well together. Too well sometimes! Constant playing gets a bit much after a while!

    5. Lastly I am grateful that I managed to shift my butt and get rid of the carpets laying in the back garden. Made it a much nicer place now that we have redesigned it all.

Have a good bank holiday weekend!

I know that feeling when you think you’re overreacting about taking your dog to the vets. In my eyes, it’s called being a good dog parent, so never beat yourself up about this; always best to get things checked out 🙂
I’m sorry to hear about the Blogger Bash. I was following on social media on the day. It’s a shame it didn’t meet your expectations but I’m glad you made the most of it and had the chance to meet and chat to some blogging friends.
Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend whatever you do – I’m very grateful for the 3 days we have off too! Take care xx

Another great list of things to be grateful for Lauren. I’m thankful for being brave enough to go on the zip wire at the Eden Project and loving it as much as I did. I’m glad Milly is on the mend. It was lovely to meet you at the Bash 😊
