Practicing Gratitude – #FridayFive 6th October 2017 29

It’s been a while but I’m back! I’ve missed writing these #FridayFive posts and reflecting on what I’m grateful for. I have been trying to notice when I’m grateful but it’s really good to have a regular gratitude practice like this weekly list!

#FridayFive Practicing Gratitude Milly's Guide

Practicing gratitude is supposed to lead to happiness and a more positive attitude, so here’s my #FridayFive which are the five things that I am grateful for this week. Join in! What are you grateful for?

  1. I’m super grateful that we’ve moved house! It was stressful, tiring and expensive! But we have settled in our lovely, little cottage, settling in to new routines and exploring our new village.
  2. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to go to the Time to Change StoryCamp event. It really inspired and motivated me to blog more about mental health. It reminded me of the impact that I can have and how important it is to raise awareness and challenge the stigma that still remains around mental health. And it inspired me to try #vlogging and making videos, something I never thought I’d do – I’ve already shared a few on the Milly’s Guide facebook page!
  3. I’m grateful to meet up with my best friend, Leanne. We didn’t spend long together but we ate cake and giggled a lot!
  4. I have started a new group therapy course. Now, I’m only 1 week in but I’m grateful for this opportunity to make a difference to my life.
  5. As ever, Milly! She is a constant presence in my life, never judges or blames me, loves me unconditionally and gives amazing cuddles!

Nice to see you back, and glad to hear the move went well.
    1) Grateful for some very decent dog-walking weather this week
    2) Grateful for the chance to visit some relatives who are holidaying in Suffolk.
    3) Grateful for more great treatment from the NHS.
    4) Grateful for the optician in Specsavers who decided I should wait before getting new glasses, instead of pressuring me to spend money.
    5) Grateful for my loyal dog, Ollie, for who I can do no wrong.
    Best wishes, Pete.

Such a great thing to do. I am grateful my puppy’s Cone of Shame has been removed after he hurt his paw. Seeing him run around like a mad thing with no giant cone on his head has been amazing.

Your new home sounds lovely. Glad you’ve settled in nicely.
    My gratitudes:
    1) So grateful that my beautiful daughter continues to bring me joy and lots of love every single day.
    2) grateful that Angela at You Are Awesome published a post of mine on her blog that meant so much to me.
    3) grateful that the town I live in puts on such a wonderful literary festival every year. On Thursday I went to see Brendan Cox talk (MP Jo Cox’s husband) and he made me feel very grateful for life and my husband
    4) grateful for my daughter’s school who opened their doors and let Parents look at their child’s work and look round their classroom. My daughter loves her new class and teachers.
    5) grateful that I went two days without painkillers. That’s a big achievement for me!
    Thank you x

How lovely, you have so many wonderful things to be grateful for! I’ve been wanting to start a gratitude journal for a while now. I’m grateful for:
    1. Our beautiful, warm sunny days that we’ve been having in Sydney. I’ve been able to do lots of washing and get the kids out for a run around.
    2. Our health. This winter we got through unscathed.
    3. Having access to lots of wonderful ingredients so I can cook and bake for my family.
    4. In spring we’ve now got lots of lovely little creatures in our garden.
    5. My car has survived another week without breaking down!

I couldn’t help but smile, reading through the things you are grateful for 🙂 if you can manage this much positivity after a house move, which is am extremely stressful thing to do, then you’re definitely on to a winner! Happy New Home! Xx
