If we were catching up I would tell you that I’m tired. It’s been a crazy, busy, stressful week at work and I am tired. But I don’t want to talk about work. I’m having a very chilled weekend at home. This afternoon I’ve been doing some housework and very satisfyingly fixing some of doors which were getting stuck. Now my hands smell of WD40!
This week I went to my Pilates class. I’ve skipped a few weeks because of various things and have been struggling to get myself back into it. But I went, loved it and my body and mind felt so good for going. I’ve also been getting t of bed earlier to do about 10 minutes of stretching and Pilates. It feels good and like I’m doing something really good for me.
Before yesterday I had gone quite a while without posting on here. That’s what happens when life and work take over. But I’m proud that I’ve finally posted a blog which I’ve had in drafts for ages!
Now, how has your week been?
One of the things that I’m trying to do is start a more active routine, so it’s nice to hear about your Pilates. 🙂
What are your plans for an active routine?
My first step is going to be trying yoga and giving the dog a walk every day for a month or so. It’s been a long time since I exercised regularly, and I want to start slowly with things that will be strengthening but not strenuous. I’d like to swim, but there isn’t a pool nearby that doesn’t require an exorbitant gym fee for access.
It’s good to be active even if you’re not going to exercise classes. Hope your new routine goes well!
Thanks! It’s going pretty well so far, and I can already tell that I have a bump in energy because I’m more active. I’m hoping the weather holds out and is pretty for a while, rather than stormy!
Don’t know anything about Pilates, but I do yoga as often as I can fit it in and I always am glad that I made time for it – even when I am very tired. Hope next week is easier on you.
I have tried yoga before and found Pilates is better for me. Less holding poses and more movement. I know it’s good for me and I do feel better for it, but it’s always the thing I drop when feeling tired and stressed. I’m working on it though 🙂
Sorry your week was stressful, hope the coming week is better. I am not familiar with Pilates, heard of Yoga and often thought I knew more about it.
Thankyou. I’m hoping it will be better too! I have tried both but find that Pilates suits me better. Not so much focus on holding poses and more movement.
Very nice to “meet” you! I’m glad you are finding time to do something good for yourself. That is always a good thing.
Hi Nancy, nice to ‘meet’ you too! It is really important but always the thing that I drop if I’m tired or stressed. Trying to get better at prioritising it though as I know it will make me feel better!
I hear you! We women tend to care for others before caring for ourselves!😊
Stressful weeks are very hard. I hope you have a relaxing weekend and better week next week.
Thankyou. Hope you have a good week too!
I should get back into Pilates. It always feels good to do it. Thanks for the reminder! Hope your week is getting off to a great start. 🙂
